The Indiramma Illu Scheme Application Form 2026 is now a high-priority document for thousands of homeless and low-income families across Telangana, as the Congress-led state government continues expanding beneficiary lists under its flagship Indiramma housing programme launched in 2023.

Under the scheme, each selected family receives ₹5 lakh directly to construct a permanent house of approximately 400–500 square feet, complete with an RCC roof, kitchen and toilet all at zero cost to the beneficiary.

Families who qualify also receive a free plot of 250 square metres if they are landless, making the scheme one of the most comprehensive state-level housing programmes in South India.

What Indiramma Illu Scheme Actually Offers

The Telangana Indiramma Illu Scheme covers two distinct groups of beneficiaries:

Group 1: Landless and Homeless Families: These families receive both a free plot of land (250 sq. m.) and ₹5 lakh financial assistance for house construction.

Group 2 Land-Owning But Homeless Families: These families already own a plot but have no permanent house. They receive ₹5 lakh for construction without a land allotment.

The government has categorised all applications into three lists L1, L2 and L3 to manage distribution fairly:

CategoryWho It Covers
L1Families who own land but do not have a permanent house
L2Families who own neither land nor a permanent house
L3Families who already own a house (not eligible for core benefit)

Who Can Apply: Full Eligibility Criteria

The scheme’s eligibility rules are clear and straightforward. Here is who qualifies:

  • Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Telangana and a native of the district or municipality where they apply
  • Income Group: Low-income and BPL families across all categories qualify; no strict upper income ceiling but families must not own any pucca house anywhere in India
  • Housing Status: The family must currently live in a kaccha house, semi-pucca structure or have no house at all
  • Landless Eligibility: Both landless families and land-owning families without a house qualify under separate benefit tiers
  • Telangana Movement Participants: Individuals or families who actively participated in the Telangana statehood movement receive priority in the land allotment category

Priority categories within the scheme include:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) households
  • Widows and single women heading households
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Sanitation workers and agricultural labourers
  • Transgender individuals
  • Minority community househoolds

Families who already benefit from another central or state housing scheme such as PM Awas Yojana may not qualify for Indiramma Illu simultaneously. Official confirmation of dual-scheme overlap rules is available at the nearest Gram Panchayat office.
