Interrogation and Denials
The episode begins at the police station. An inspector asks Jhanak if she suspects anyone of framing her. Jhanak says she does not. The DIG asks why she previously admitted to the crime. Jhanak explains that she lied only to protect Rishi’s job. She tells the officers that many people touched the jewelry bag, so her fingerprints do not prove she is a thief.
The officers also ask about her past trouble at the college hostel. Jhanak clarifies that she was praying to her mother’s photo. She claims she has no idea who placed a skull in her room to get her in trouble. Therefore, she maintains her innocence despite the pressure from the police.
Dropping the Charges
Outside, Rishi tells his family that he will prove Jhanak is innocent. He regrets that she confessed to a crime she did not commit. Meanwhile, Aditi talks to Aniruddh. She convinces him to withdraw the police complaint. Aniruddh agrees to drop the case, but only because Aditi asked him to do it.
Inside the station, Jhanak tells the DIG she does not want anyone’s sympathy. She wants to fight for the truth. However, Aniruddh submits the withdrawal letter anyway. Jhanak is allowed to leave, but she remains upset that the truth was not officially proven.
Mishti’s Fear and Guilt
The scene shifts to Mishti, who is at home and feeling very ill. She recalls a shocking moment where Aditi told her to hide the jewel in Jhanak’s bag. Mishti is now terrified that the police will find out she helped frame Jhanak.
Because of her intense fear, Mishti develops a high fever. Her family tries to comfort her, but she continues to cry. She wonders if she will be arrested next. But her family members tell her not to overthink the situation, as they do not know her secret yet.
Returning to College
Sanjhbati and Dritimaan arrive at the station to take Jhanak home. They show their support for her. Later, a family member asks Dritimaan about his plans to stay in Kolkata. They suggest that a marriage could happen if he stays in the city.
Finally, Jhanak returns to her college. Her friend Ayush tells her that he trusts her completely. However, the atmosphere remains tense. Mishti and several other students confront Jhanak and loudly call her a thief in front of everyone.
Precap: Ayush defends Jhanak by saying the police cleared her name. But Mishti argues that Jhanak was only released because the complaint was taken back, not because she was proven innocent.
